Soldier working in the trenches

Three paragraphs

I am a Soldier and i work in the trenches. The trenches that we work in are usually seven feet deep and 6 feet wide. It is impossible to see over the top of it. The trenches are not dug in straight lines or else or enemies would be able to go down into our trench and make a straight shoot at us. We had to place Duck-boards at the bottom of our trenches to protect us soldiers of trench foot. Trench foot is when you walk on the bottom of the trench and our feet get wet and cold and we suffer from it. The only thing that you can do about trench foot is to continuously change your socks and even that sometimes does not work.

We recently got combat vehicles. They are very nice to have. We can drive around down in the trenches now and also when we aren't in the trenches. It was hard to get them down there but now that we have had them down there for a while there is tracks and so we can drive them in and out of the trenches now. It is nice to have them down in the trenches because then we don’t have to walk around everywhere down there and risk getting trench foot. We also don’t have to climb in and out of the trenches we can just ride in the combat vehicles.
We also recently received machine guns. We are all very happy about the machine guns because usually when our enemies come we don’t stand a chance when they open up their machine guns. We have the machine guns a little in front of our lines that way we have a good view of everything in the battlefield and know if our enemies are coming. There are many less people that are dying because of getting shot now that we have our own machine guns i think our enemies will be a little more afraid to come back when they see our machine guns.

The Cell Phone

          I wanted to invent the telephone because today people need communication. Having a cell phone would make communication a lot easier. I think that my cell phone would help a lot of people because it's a very reliable source of communication and you would never have problems with it. I use my cell phone all the time i use it to call people and even to text people.

         Texting is where you type a message on your phone and send it to another person and they can reply to it by typing back to it. If you don't  feel like talking on the phone you can just text. It's great when you need to send someone a phone number or an address. I know that my plan will work because my cell phone with texting and calling will make communication so much easier for people that after they use it they won't want to be without it. All you have to do is when the battery gets low plug it in over night and so you will have a fully charged battery the next day.

Veterans Day

      Today is Veterans Day we just came back inside from doing the 21 gun salute. We all went outside and watched them. We also had a speaker from Pisgah he was a really interesting person to listen to. I think that it's good that we take some time out of the day to thank that Veterans for everything they do. They worked and still do work hard in keeping our Country together. I don't think they get as much appreciation as much as they deserve to get.
      He said that fighting in a War is a very hard thing to do. He has 2 kids and a wife that he doesn't have the choice to see whenever he wants, everything depends on his job he can be gone for 8 months and then home for a year. I really feel for the family's because i'm pretty close with my dad and i can't imagine having him gone for 8 months. I really appreciate everything that the Veterans do for our Country. So many things would be different if we didn't have Veterans fighting for us.

Technology

I'm glad that we have technology today it's really helpful when your writing a paper. Or just need to look up something on the internet for school. It's nice to not have to go to the computer lab every time we need a computer. I'm glad that the school got these lap tops for us because it will help a lot on school work and keep us students more organized! :) Sooo thanks :)

       are doing. When your down in the mine
       make sure your making the best decisions
       as possible because you definitely don't
       want something to go wrong.You would
       work 10 hours everyday!From 8:00am-6:00pm!
       The more tons of coal you get the more

Northern Newspaper

      Here in the South they want slavery they think that the African Americans should do everything for the whites. When slavery ended the South was very dissapointed because they were beginning to be treated the same and the whites didn't think that the African Americans should be treated like a normal person. It was a big change for the South because they were use to having everything that the slaves didn't. But the slaves are so happy they finaly get to have and do the same things as the whites who wern't slaves got upset. The slaves are thankful to be free because slavery is all they have known. They could finally have a life that didn't consist of slavery and pleasing other people.
     In the South it is sad how the African Americans are treated they don't understand why skin color makes whites against them because it's just a color of skin. The African Amerians have to try to find work from whites which is hard because most of the whites don't even want to hire them. Or if they don hire them they don't give them the regular pay or make them work twice as hard as the whites. And if a white is looking for a job and an African American is the boss then they won't work for them because they don't want to get told what to do by an African American. Whites think that they are way above the African Americans and have all the power possible over them.
    Being here and seeing the African American familys is very sad. I can't imagine what it would be like to get judged just because the color of your skin. And to be avoided by whites just because they think that you should just go back to being a slave again. I don't understand how some of these people are so mean. The whites see the African American as "bad people" they think that their to blame for shootings and robbery and everything else, that's not true even whites do things like that its not JUST African Americans! I think that the whites need to put themselves into the African American shoes and see how they feel. A lot of them are good people that just want to live a happy normal life without being judged by there skin color....If only the whites would give these African Americans a chance.
